Tips for Parents

Parental Preparation Tips

Here are minor but impactful adjustments you can make to set your child up for a wonderful sensory-friendly experience.

Read through the visual guide on this page with your child multiple times. Seeing the photos beforehand helps normalize the environment and limits surprise anxiety.

Sensory sensitivity extends to clothing textures. Dress children in soft, tagless, comfortable fabrics and bring grip socks. Sensation regulation begins with physical comfort.

While we provide plenty of sensory regulation tools, bringing a beloved plushie or a familiar fidget toy can provide a grounding anchor of familiarity.
Playroom Etiquette
  • Use Whispering Voices: To protect hyper-sensitive hearing, we encourage indoor whispers inside the play space.
  • Respect Cozy Spaces: The Quiet Corner is a rest zone only—no running or active playing inside.
  • Supervision Required: Caregivers must stay in the facility at all times to monitor their children.
  • Inclusive Sharing: Fidget tools and headphones are library elements; please return them to the desk after use.
